Best college football quarterback born in every state

North Carolina: Roman Gabriel – NC State Wolfpack
North Carolina is rich in sports history, including college football. The Tar Heel State has produced players such as Julius Peppers, Adrian Wilson and Mario Williams. It’s also the birthplace of two prominent quarterbacks in Sonny Jurgensen and Roman Gabriel. Jurgensen had a better pro career, but Gabriel was more prolific in college.
Gabriel was born in Wilmington, North Carolina and attended New Hanover High School, where he started playing football. He went on to become a star signal-caller for the North Carolina State Wolfpack.
Roman was a two-time All-American and two-time ACC Player of the Year and finished his collegiate career holding almost every NC State passing record there is. He was also an academic All-American and his jersey was retired almost immediately after his senior season.
After college, Gabriel enjoyed success at the NFL level as well, getting named to four Pro Bowl teams and receiving the 1969 MVP Award. Roman was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1989.
