Chris Hogan-New England Patriots

Hogan was another one of my WR Sleepers from last week that came through for me. The Patriots’ offseason acquisition wasy buoyed by Tom Brady’s return to the Patriots offense and put together a big game working with TB12 for the first time in the regular season

While fellow-newcomer Martellus Bennett ended up with there touchdowns, Hogan was only targeted five times. However, he made the most of the looks his way by pulling in four catches for 114 yards. He ended up with a couple big gains and flashed a lot of upside as the Patriots regular second WR. The problem with Hogan is that he is somewhere around fifth in line for targets even though he is the team’s second receiver.

The reason that Hogan is back on my WR sleepers list this week is that he is part of such a solid offense. However, the multitude of other weapons also makes him a risky week-to-week play. Some weeks, he’ll go off like last week, while other weeks the Patriots may attack a different matchup and throw to him very little. He’s a boom-or-bust play this week against the Bengals, but with Gronk sick and Edelman banged up he should get enough work to be a starting option in most formats.
