College Football Rankings: FanSided Top 25 entering Week 8
Houston went from comfortable to chokers to dream killers on Saturday as they stopped Tulsa short of the goal line as time expired. A loss for the Cougars would’ve killed almost any chance of them reaching the New Year’s Six as it would’ve been deemed a “bad loss”.
the rest of Houston’s 2016 slate is quite easy when you look at it, aside from the showdown with Louisville there’s no team that offers a challenge to them. I hope that Houston can learn from their close escape and close out the teams they’re supposed to beat. If not, there’s no New Year’s Six for the Cougars.
Oklahoma is laying in the weeds, be very afraid.
After a 38-17 victory over Kansas State, the Sooners have place themselves into prime New Years Six position,. Their schedule is much easier down the stretch and with some of the contenders ahead of them with tough roads, don’t be shocked if we see the Sooners sneak their way into CFP position just in case things get crazy.
This week, Oklahoma will have a showdown with Texas Tech in what might be one of the best games this season. Two high powered offenses, the whole Baker Mayfield OU-Tech situation, so much drama headed to Lubbock on Saturday night.
