87. Bad luck continues to plague the Panthers, who lost to the Saints on a last-second field goal. Cam Newton returned from his concussion and was 27 of 47 with 322 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception in the second quarter. Despite leading New Orleans in time of possession, red zone scoring, and penalties they could not contain the Saints offense. Carolina’s defense, which they hung their hat on last year en route to Super Bowl 50, allowed over 400 passing yards by Drew Brees. They sacked Brees just once, and forced only one turnover, highlighting the importance of having Josh Norman prowling in the secondary. <p>Next Week: Carolina will finally have a week where they are guaranteed not to lose.
