The Indianapolis Colts appeared well on their way to continuing their dominance of the Houston Texans. Then it all came apart for Chuck Pagano’s erratic club, most notably in the fourth quarter as the defense squandered a 23-9 lead down the stretch and gave up 17 unanswered points in a bitter overtime loss. Running back Frank Gore became the first Colts player to run for 100-plus yards in a game since the 2012 season. Quarterback Andrew Luck frustrated the Houston defense with his arm (252 passing yards) and feet (53 rushing yards) but eventually was corralled by the Texans pass rush. The Colts gave up 414 total yards, 297 of those in the second half and overtime.

Next Week: For the third time in four weeks, the Colts face a divisional opponent on the road when they travel to Nashville to face the Titans. Indianapolis has prevailed in the last nine encounters between these teams and owns an imposing 22-4 record in this AFC South series dating back to 2003.

Playoff hopes: Talk about a logjam. While the Texans are atop the division with a 4-2 record, the Colts find themselves at the bottom of the AFC South with a disappointing 2-4 mark. Two of those losses are within the division – to the Jaguars and Texans. It’s far from an insurmountable hole for Luck and his mates but this is a team with a defensive unit that makes struggling offenses look good.
. 2-4. Previous: . Indianapolis Colts. 24. team. 46
