1. Charlie Strong

Whether he likes it or not, Charlie Strong is on permanent hot seat watch for the rest of his tenure at Texas. Last week, the Longhorns did Strong a solid by picking up a nice win against the Iowa State Cyclones.

Iowa State is much inferior competition and they did what they needed to. This week, the Longhorns will take on the Kansas State Wildcats in a big road game. If the Longhorns lose this one on the road, they will drop even further in the Big 12 standings.

His road is rocky enough already, but a tough loss on the road will only speed up the process. He needs his team to come out with the same fire and intensity that they had last week. If they do that, they will give themselves a chance.

The defense really responded well for Texas last week. Bill Snyder is going to test them this week and they’ll have to be ready for what is thrown at them. If they aren’t, then Strong could be out of a job very soon.
