No. 1: The Aggies have one of the best defenses in the country

The SEC has been feasted on the past two seasons by Myles Garrett.

This season, Texas A&M has been lead by their junior edge rusher to a 6-0 record, with wins coming against solid teams such as Auburn and Arkansas, and a great team such as Tennessee. However, in Garrett’s tenure at Texas A&M, he has never beaten the Nick Saban-coached Alabama Crimson Tide.

It is expected that Garrett, the clear-cut favorite to be taken first overall in this year’s NFL draft, will be leaving College Station after this season. Therefore, if Garrett wishes to have his legacy remembered as one of the greatest players to ever wear the “Maroon and White” he must defeat Alabama this weekend.

Alabama is used to having the best defensive players on the field, however, against Texas A&M, that will not be true.

This season, the Aggies have a vastly improved defense. In the secondary, the team is led by Justin Evans who is tied for second in the SEC in interceptions. Additionally, fellow edge rusher Daeshon Hall is part of the reason why teams are terrified to run the ball against the Aggies.
