2017 NFL Draft stock report: J.T. Barrett rising despite loss
Haason Reddick, DE, Temple: Stock Up
If you had the opportunity to buy stock in a player right now, Haason Reddick would be your best bet. Reddick is not a name known throughout college football like Tim Williams or Myles Garrett, but he’s producing just as well as either of them. The Temple Owls pass rusher is tied for third in the country with seven sacks, and has been on fire recently. Reddick has recorded two sacks in each of his past three games, the most for any player in that time span.
Temple currently has Reddick listed as a 4-3 defensive end, but he has the size for an outside linebacker. If he is to stay at defensive end, he’ll need to add about 20 pounds. NFL personnel will ultimately determine where Reddick will fit long-term, but he has the versatility to line-up where ever he is asked to.
NFL teams will be conducting investigations after a 2015 nightclub altercation resulted in Reddick and three other Temple players being behind bars. Reddick was charged with aggravated assault, criminal conspiracy, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person after a fight broke out in the club. Reddick was offered the opportunity to attend an Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program with the opportunity to have the charges dropped and expunged from his record.
With a clean off the field record and continued production, Reddick has the talent to be drafted anywhere from the third to fifth round. Teams will certainly conduct their typical investigations, which will ultimately determine his fate.
