Who is on Talking Dead tonight, October 23rd?

With Season 7 of The Walking Dead getting off to a 90-minute start, the first edition of Talking Dead will be an absolutely loaded one.

Over the course of six seasons, The Walking Dead has grown in popularity to become the highest-rated cable show in television. While there was a lot of hype during its first season, it only averaged 5 million viewers, which was high for AMC at the time. Now, they regularly average 13 million viewers, with the Season 5 premiere remaining their highest rated episode.

A big part of their success in ratings has to come from Talking Dead. A live after-show that started airing in Season 2, Chris Hardwick has booked high-profile celebrities who are superfans of The Walking Dead. It helps boost the show’s profile, and makes it more popular than ever, even as it approaches its seventh season.

The Season 5 premiere has the highest viewership ever at 17.29 million. But given how they made fans wait to see who Negan killed for six months, the Season 7 premiere could shatter that number.

Talking Dead, which airs right after the premiere, will only benefit, as Hardwick has an absolutely loaded lineup. Here’s the full list of guests, according to AMC (h/t Undead Walking):

Robert Kirkman, Scott Gimple, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Danai Gurira, Lauren Cohan, Steven Yuen, Josh McDermitt, Michael Cudlitz, Christian Serratos, Ross Marquand, Sonequa Green, and Chandler Riggs.

The only person who isn’t affiliate with the show is Yvette Nicole Brown. Shirley from Community is a Walking Dead superfan and Talking Dead regular. She’ll surely (no pun intended) have lots of thoughts on whoever Negan ends up killing. As far as Community stars go, Donald Glover has stolen all the headlines with his show Atlanta and getting cast as Lando Calrissian. But with The Walking Dead returning, now is Nicole Brown’s time to shine.

With Rick’s whole crew appearing on Talking Dead, one of them will end up being the person Negan killed. They should offer lots of opinions on how they felt about getting killed off.  But despite the way Season 6 ended, Walking Dead fans should be happy that Negan has finally arrived. If the premiere lives up to the hype, this has the potential to be The Walking Dead’s best season yet.
