27. Despite Derrick Rose’s proclamations, the New York Knicks are not yet a “superteam,” finding themselves with a lottery pick in 2017 in these projects. The good news is that having a high draft pick could help put the Knicks on the road to recovery.
<p>Indiana’s O.G. Anunoby would be a nice fit for the Knicks next to Carmelo Anthony, giving the team a versatile defender who could make up for Melo’s shortcomings on that end of the floor. At 6-foot-8 and 215 pounds, Anunoby has the ability to switch onto nearly any player on the court. His performance shutting down Kentucky’s Jamal Murray in last season’s NCAA Tournament is the perfect example of what the swingman could offer at the next level.</p>
<p>Anunoby is still a developing talent on the offensive end. Although he connected on a high percentage of his three-point attempts as a freshman, his woeful 47.6 free throw percentage suggests that won’t continue as the quantity of his attempts rise as a sophomore unless significant improvements have been made over the offseason.
