8. Kliff Kingsbury, Texas Tech Red Raiders

Kliff Kingsbury is leading his alma mater, the Texas Tech Red Raiders program. His Air Raid offense puts up points better than just about anybody in the country and he also looks like a million bucks with his dapper good looks. He’s also making $3,306,575, 30th among Division I coaches in 2016.

Kingsbury’s Red Raiders play absolutely no defense, to the point where they are almost viewed as a joke in the Big 12. The Big 12’s reputation can be surmised in how the Red Raiders play football under Kingsbury: throw the football and nothing else matters.

How is he making more money than College Football Hall of Famer Bill Snyder at Kansas State? Snyder is considered the Coach of the Century for what he did for Kansas State football. He’s won more Big 12 Championships than most in the conference today. Why is he getting outpaid by a guy nearly half his age in Lubbock who’s really only proven to be skilled in one aspect of the game?

Kingsbury is getting more dime than Houston Cougars head coach Tom Herman. Herman may have lost a few games this season, but he is the next great up-and-coming coach in Division I. Texas Tech’s football history is really tied to the Air Raid under former head coach Mike Leach and his many disciples. Only the Red Raiders can score 50 points a week and miss a bowl game.
