Penn State and Purdue UNDER 56.5 points

I’m starting to buy Penn State’s defense. The Nittany Lions lived in the backfield during the shocking upset victory over Ohio State a week ago, and while they must travel to Purdue for a noon kick-off this week, the talent on that side of the ball is real. I don’t think Purdue can get beyond 20-24 points and that should be enough to keep this under the total. It may not be a pretty (or fun) sweat but I think it is the right side. Simple as that.

Michigan State (+23.5) over Michigan

Nothing about Michigan State inspires confidence right now and I realize that. The Spartans have led me astray on multiple occasions in this space and, frankly, this appears to be a bad football team. However, Mark Dantonio absolutely owns Michigan and he is already talking about how much this game means to the program, especially in what amounts to a lost year. This feels like a “kitchen sink” game for the Spartans, and while they probably aren’t going to pull the upset, even in East Lansing, I can’t imagine staying away from this many points with a frisky home team in a rivalry game. It’s required that I take the candy.
