Upset of The Week – Texas over No. 8 Baylor

Charlie Strong’s Longhorns team is one that is quite interesting and very frustrating. You don’t know from week to week what kind of team you are going to get – a team that can’t beat Kansas State or a team that can upset a top 10 foe.

Quite frankly, the Bears are due for a loss. The karma Gods have to play a role in letting the men from Waco realize that a) they aren’t as good as their record says they are and b) for all the stuff that went on off the field during the Art Briles years, they deserve every single loss that comes their way.

Saturday will be Baylor’s first real road test (sorry, going to Iowa State and winning by three points doesn’t convince me that they are any good). As the year has gone on, we’ve seen the seat is starting to warm back up under Strong in Austin, so this will be a game where the men in burnt orange are going to play their hearts out.

With games in back to back weeks following this showdown where Baylor takes on TCU and Oklahoma, here’s hoping that this is the start of a much deserved slump for the men from Waco.
