1. Leonard Fournette – RB – LSU Tigers

Leonard Fournette isn’t your typical running back. While most RBs tend to run away from defenders with elusive moves, Fournette prefers to run into them. As a matter of fact, it appears as if he’s the one pursuing the ball carrier rather than being one.

Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 235 pounds, Leonard is a physical specimen at his position. He possesses excellent breakaway speed and doesn’t require many steps to accelerate to his top gear. For most backs, this would be good enough and they would take advantage of their athletic superiority. However, Fournette thrives on using that speed to punish would-be tacklers.

If anyone is questioning this selection, then Fournette’s most recent game against Ole Miss is all you need to watch. The 284 rushing yards and three touchdowns were more than impressive. However, the way that he trucked Deontay Anderson looked like he literally tried to end his life. It makes me wonder if Anderson will ever be the same after that.

With his combination of great size, speed and unapologetic violence, Leonard Fournette is easily the scariest player in college football. When an offensive player delivers as much, if not more, punishment as a defensive player, it’s truly the scariest thing on the field.
