Kevin Durant-Golden State Warriors (9,800): While LeBron’s team is undefeated and Durant’s isn’t, it has been Durant who has gotten off to the better fantasy basketball start to the season. With  his new running mates in Golden State, Durant has posted 57.4 fantasy points per game and should be set up for another monster stat line tonight in Portland. Durant has two double-doubles already this season and is coming off a season-high 37 points against the Suns on Sunday. He and Anthony Davis are the stars to target tonight, and of the two I’d give Durant a slight edge if you decide to go with just one star and balance across the rest of your roster.∗∗∗

Kawhi Leonard-San Antonio Spurs (8,300): Kawhi and the Spurs are 4-0 and have had a busy schedule to start the season. In each of those four games, Leonard has scored at least 20 points and added solid non-scoring stats as well. He started with a pair of games over 50 fantasy points before posting 33.3 and 38.4 in the Spurs weekend back-to-back this weekend. He’s a low-risk play tonight as the Spurs host the Jazz tonight with the only wild card in the equation being what tricks Coach Pop has up his sleeves as far as his rotation. If Leonard gets his regular minutes, though, he’s a top-shelf contributor and a bargain at just over 8K.

Rudy Gay-Sacramento Kings (7,300): Gay continued his quietly solid start to the season last night in Atlanta where he had 22 points, five assists, three rebounds ,and two steals. His 35.1 fantasy points were the third time he has posted at least 35 in those four games in which he is averaging 22.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.5 blocks. Tonight, he and the Kings will look to salvage a split of their SE swing by picking up a win in South Beach. If you can’t afford Kawhi, Gay offers similar multi-category numbers without Kawhi’s ultra-high upside only because Boogie Cousins is the dominant force in Sacramento’s offense. ∗∗∗

Andrew Wiggins-Minnesota Timberwolves (6,400): Wiggins scoring has been strong to start the season with 25 and 29 points in Minnesota’s first two games of the season. He hasn’t contributed much in other categories, though, which has led to just 33.4 and 29.2 fantasy points. To move to the next level, Wiggins will need to fill in the box score in more columns, but he’s a solid pick at 6K if you’re ok with him just filling up the scoring column.
