3. Jim Harbaugh is all in

To win the Heisman you must have a following. You’re team needs to be supporting, but most importantly you must have a promoter. Jim Harbaugh is not only a huge supporter of his players, but he is the biggest Jabrill Peppers fan in the NCAA.

Harbaugh knows how to plug his players, and since the beginning of the football season, he’s done nothing but support his guy in the eyes of the media.

Being a great player and performing like an all-pro is an important part of winning a Heisman Trophy, but it’s not the only part. There’s actually quite a bit of marketing that goes along with it. Harbaugh not only coaches up his prodigy, but he points out his strengths whenever possible.

Marketing yourself is important because the more people hear about your level of play, the more you become a household name.

More importantly, if your team and coach don’t think that you’re worthy, then the rest of the world won’t either.
