High Value C

Marcin Gortat-Washington Wizard (5,900): The task of slowing down Dwight will fall mostly on Marcin Gortat for the Wizards tonight. With Ian Mahinmi still out, Gortat has had to play a ton of minutes for the Wizards. He played 43 on Wednesday against Toronto and finished with a season-high 37.5 fantasy points on 15 point and ten rebounds. The only hesitation in playing the Polish Hammer tonight is that Gortat was limited to just four points and 11 boards against Howard in their first meeting this season while also committing three turnovers. Since he’ll be at home tonight, though, I think he’ll improve those numbers enough to be a solid play at this price point. ∗∗∗∗

Mason Plumlee-Portland Trail Blazers (4,900): Since laying an egg in the season opener, Pllumlee has put together a nice run of multi-category production for the Blazers resulting in at least 24 fantasy points in four straight contests. He only managed four points on Wednesday in his 21 minutes, but he did chip in a nice four assists, two blocks, and a dozen rebounds to get to 28 fantasy points. Plumlee should be able to attack the Mavs down low tonight who have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points per game in the NBA to opposing centers so far this season. ∗∗

Tyson Chandler-Phoenix Suns (4,400): Chandler and the Suns are taking on the Pelicans who have allowed the second-most fantasy points per game in the NBA to opposing centers making Chandler a solid cheap option tonight as well. The veteran big man has at least 20 fantasy points in four of his five games this season and two matching games with exactly 31 fantasy points in his last three. With such a good matchup at such an affordable price, give Chandler a chance if you choose to go with a non-elite center.∗∗∗∗

Mike Muscala-Atlanta Hawks (3,600): Muscala has been increasingly involved off the bench for the Hawks this season with Mike Scott and Tiago Splitter sidelined due to injury. Muscala has two games over 25 fantasy points and posted 17.75 fantasy points on Wednesday against the Lakers in just 15 minutes. He started the year against the Wizards with nine points and four boards in 26 minutes, and he’ll be a great play at this price if he gets that much run again tonight. ∗∗
