Some teams pull off a major upset and seem to fade into the background during the season, Penn State is not one of those teams. Over the weekend, the Nittany Lions continued to validate their upset of Ohio State by laying the wood to Iowa over the weekend. For a team that struggled early on this past season, Penn State’s midseason rebound has been one of the most underrated stories this season. It appears James Franklin is building something in State College. While they might not have a chance at the playoff or even the NY6, chances are you’ll see this team with the young talent they have contending in the Big Ten East next season.

In the ongoing battle to see who will play Clemson (and/or Louisville) in the ACC Title Game, both North Carolina and Virginia Tech are picking off wins in the ACC week by week. This week, North Carolina pounded Georgia Tech with an overwhelming 48-20 victory and now they face instate rival Duke. That’s a game UNC should win and now will have to hope for a Va. Tech slip up over the next month if they want a chance at the ACC Title Game. The Heels have an easy road and even if they don’t reach the ACC Title Game, they could place themselves in contention for the New Years Six.
