Not throwing Jared Goff into the fire too early has been the right decision for Los Angeles. He was clearly not ready to make the transition from an air-raid offense at Cal to a pro-style one where he had more responsibility. Fans calling for Case Keenum to be benched in favor of Goff have a case, but you do not want to be stuck with damaged goods if you are the Rams. Make sure your prized rookie quarterback is ready before you force him. Now that being said, Keenum was awful once again against the Panthers. Not having Todd Gurley playing like his rookie self isn’t helping either. Keenum was picked off by Thomas Davis, and also fumbled early in the game. Rams fans need to stay patient and know the pain of watching Keenum now will pay off in the future when Goff is ready.

Next Week: Jeff Fisher takes his team to the east coast to face the New York Jets. With questions surrounding the quarterbacks for both teams, this game brings unusual intrigue. Don’t expect this to be a slugfest though. Both teams have good pass rushers and will be in the face of the quarterbacks all day.

Playoff hopes: You can not have playoff hopes if you are the Rams and Keenum is running onto the field every week. Even if Goff did come in, not having Gurley running as well as he is used to leaves Goff vulnerable because opponents won’t feel pressured by the run. This is Seattle and Arizona’s division this year, and the Rams are already an afterthought in the NFL.
. 3-5. Previous: . Los Angeles Rams. 28. team. 51
