27. team. 48. Despite holding their own against an MVP-caliber quarterback and an emerging defense, the Buccaneers could not hold off the Falcons. Coming off an overtime loss to the Raiders in-which Derek Carr threw for a franchise record 513 yards, Tampa Bay didn’t have the firepower to win late. Losing Jameis Winston to a knee injury and Mike Evans to the concussion protocol late put the Buccaneers offense in a tough position. Mike Glennon did lead Tampa Bay on a long touchdown drive, but his talent is not comparable to Winston. Jameis said he felt fine after the game, but his status for next week is not fully known. The team also lost their fourth running back to injury this season when Antone Smith went down.
Next Week: Dirk Koetter will lead his Buccaneers squad against the Bears at home. On paper this game looks to be horrible, and it could ultimately turnout that way. Chicago has not won a road game this season, and Tampa Bay has not won at home. Does that mean we’re getting another tie?

Playoff hopes: With just three wins and the Falcons surging once again, it will be tough for Tampa Bay to pull out a playoff season. The defense has allowed far too many points, and the injuries on offense have gutted the depth chart. If Winston can progress and the defense gets some playmakers, next year might be the year.
. 3-5. Previous: . Tampa Bay Buccaneers
