Stephen A. Smith buries San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick for not voting.
Americans across the nation have shared their opinions on what happened in the 2016 presidential election and what went wrong to put Trump into such a high position. This was no different on Wednesday when ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith absolutely destroyed Colin Kaepernick when discussing the quarterback’s decision to not vote in the presidential election.
Kaepernick has used his platform to lead a protest on racial injustices in America. By kneeling during the national anthem, he started a conversation not only about the flag that our nation looks up to, but who they look up to as well. However, recently he shared that he did not participate in yesterday’s presidential election and that did not sit with Mr. Smith.
“As far as I’m concerned Colin Kaepernick is absolutely irrelevant,” Smith began. “I don’t want to hear a damn word about anything that he has to say about our nation, the issues that we have, racial injustices, needing change.”
“He comes across as a flaming hypocrite as far as I’m concerned. I’m not interested in a damn word that he has to say and quite frankly I hope he goes away,” Smith added. “He’s lucky to be in the league right now.”
Smith has always been weary of Kaepernick’s protest and authenticity, but according to him, Kaepernick betrayed everything he was arguing about in his national anthem protest. The rant this morning should have come as no surprise as Smith starting tweeting out his thoughts on the matter well before the show even aired this morning.

It will be interesting to see how Kaepernick defends himself if he does choose to so, but it is hard to argue with Smith about not voting in such an important election. If one thing is certain it’s that Smith is defiantly not a Kaepernick supporter anymore and he is not letting up anytime soon.
