The Miami Dolphins will head to San Diego on Sunday for a classic AFC showdown. Both teams are riding high after wins last week.

Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers will welcome the Miami Dolphins to Qualcomm Stadium on Sunday in a matchup of two teams fighting to stay alive in the playoff race. Both teams are coming off huge wins this past weekend, and are looking to continue their winning ways in Week 10. The game will feature two solid young running backs, both of whom are playing the best football of their young career.

Jay Ajayi has been a beast for Miami since entering the starting lineup, as he started the season off behind veteran Arian Foster. Foster has since retired, and in his last three starts, Ajayi has rushed for over 100 yards in each. In fact, he has already rushed for 200 or more yards twice this season.

Over in San Diego, Melvin Gordon has been a workhorse for a Chargers team that has been decimated with injuries on the offensive side of the ball. The Bolts have lost Danny Woodhead and Keenan Allen for the season, and tight end Antonio Gates has missed time as well. Gordon, who failed to reach the end zone in his rookie season last year, leads the NFL with 11 touchdowns this season, nine on the ground, and two through the air.

Despite missing Allen for most of the season, Rivers has made the most of his situation in San Diego once again. The veteran has done a nice job working with guys like Tyrell Williams and Travis Benjamin, while rookie tight end Hunter Henry has been a Rookie of the Year candidate. The Bolts offense is just as electric as always, but as has been the case in recent years, their defense is suspect.

Expect a high-scoring game on Sunday, as both offenses have shown the ability to move the ball consistently recently. The biggest question mark will be Miami quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who has struggled since starting the season off with two 300-plus yard passing efforts in his first three games. If he cannot dice up the San Diego secondary, the Chargers should be able to take care of business.

Highlights

Highlights will be posted throughout the game.

Three Stars Prediction

1. Melvin Gordon

Gordon has been the man this season, as some people have said he could be the most improved player in the NFL. After struggling to do much during his rookie season, the bust label was starting to be spread, but he has quickly silenced his critics this season. He currently leads the NFL in touchdowns, and has kept the Chargers in the playoff hunt with some incredible efforts lately. He will be facing one of the worst run defenses in the league on Sunday.

2. Jay Ajayi

The Dolphins expected Arian Foster to lead the way this season, but nine weeks in, and it definitely is the Jay Ajayi Show. On Sunday, expect the Dolphins to feed Ajayi early and often, especially with Jarvis Landry nursing a sore shoulder. He may not get to 200 yards for the third time this season, but he may come very close.

3. Philip Rivers

The ageless Rivers continues to be one of the better quarterbacks in the AFC, and could be headed towards another Pro Bowl. The Dolphins have one of the better pass defenses in the league, but that has not stopped Rivers before. He is going to get his yards, and will likely lead a late-game drive that will put the game out of reach.

Odds

The San Diego Chargers are 4.5 point favorites at home this Sunday, and are playing very good football lately. The over/under is set at 48, but if these two offenses get going, it could go over that easily.

Next Week

The Chargers will have the week off in Week 11, as they get their bye week fairly late in the season. Miami will stay on the road, traveling to Los Angeles to take on the hapless Rams.
