High Salary C

Hassan Whiteside-Miami Heat (8,100): Whiteside has a double-double with multiple blocks in every game but two he has played this season. He and the Heat are on the road tonight as they take not he Spurs, but don’t be scared off by the matchup. In fact, Whitside’s best game of the season came against San Antonio on October 30 when he had 27 points, 15 rebounds, and four blocks for a massive 58.25 fantasy points. He hasn’t been able to get to that number since, but he has had two games in his last four with at least 50 fantasy points. Tonight, Whiteside is the best option in the middle that money can buy.

DeAndre Jordan-Los Angeles Clippers (6,600): Jordan was in my DraftKings daily picks for the first time this season for his last game against the T-Wolves, and he delivered with 18 points and 16 boards for a season-high 48.5 fantasy points. He has double-doubles in back-to-back games and was just  a rebound short of it being three straight. He has over 34 fantasy points in four of his last eight games which shows that this is just about a perfect price point for him. Tonight, he’ll face Brook Lopez and the Nets who he should be able to post another double-double against making him a solid, safe play at this price in the late game tonight.∗∗

Joel Embiid-Philadelphia 76ers (6,300): It’s a good night to trust “The Process” as he comes back after resting on Saturday. Embiid played a season-high 26 minutes on Friday night against the Pacers and put together a career-high 25 points to go with seven rebounds, two assists, and a block. The Rockets have struggled defensively down low at times this season which should set Embiid up for another big game tonight. His minutes cap appears to be lifting at least a little and he has at least 35 fantasy points in three of his last four games. While he’s an obvious choice at just over 6K, he’s also a really good one to target in a nice matchup tonight. Enjoy him at this price while you can.

Rudy Gobert-Utah Jazz (6,100): Although he’s slightly riskier than DeAndre Jordan, Gobert has nice upside as well tonight as the Jazz come home and take on the Grizzlies. He doesn’t have to worry about a minutes-limit like Embiid, and he has posted over 35 fantasy points in each of his last two games with double-doubles and multiple blocks like Jordan and Whiteside. With Derrick Favors out, he should have more work to do on offense, and his solid work as a defensive anchor makes him a low-risk play tonight in Salt Lake City. ∗∗∗
