50. The Lions enjoy a bye week before hosting the Jaguars next Sunday, followed by their traditional Thanksgiving Day game. With the Packers, Vikings, and Bears all falling in the standings, Detroit climbs to the top of the NFC North. Matthew Stafford is quietly having an MVP-caliber season with 2,300 yards and 18 touchdowns to just five interceptions. Marvin Jones has proven to be one of the best free agent signings of the offseason, although he has faded down to just 110 receiving yards in the past two weeks. The Lions desperately need to find a stronger running game with Ameer Abdullah out and never seeming to find his way in the NFL. Drafting a running back in a very good draft class should be a priority.
Next Week: Coming off their bye week the Lions welcome the Jaguars to Detroit. Starting the season with playoff aspirations, Jacksonville has failed to find what made it click late last season. Gus Bradley is likely gone after this season, and the Jaguars will most likely be looking for an offensive guru to help develop Blake Bortles. Kyle Shanahan makes a lot of sense, and he will certainly be available after the way Atlanta has played this year.

Playoff hopes: Detroit sits atop the NFC North thanks to the collapses of Minnesota and Green Bay. With three of its last five games on the road, Detroit will have a major test to finish the season. It has been incredibly lucky to have very few players on injured reserve, and the late bye will help during that final stretch of the season.
. 5-4. Previous: . Detroit Lions. 10. team
