High Salary PG

Russell Westbrook-Oklahoma City Thunder (12,300): Westbrook has been running the whole offense in OKC this season and putting up crazy-good numbers as a result. He had “only” 54.25 fantasy points on Wednesday against the Rockets but scored 30 points to go with nine assists, seven rebounds, and two steals. He has at least that many fantasy points  in five straight and six of his last seven. He had a massive 83.5 fantasy points last Sunday against the Magic with 41-12-16 (points-rebounds-assists). He has that kind of upside tonight as he takes on the Nets who have allowed the second most fantasy points per game in the NBA to opposing PG, but Brooklyn has been very bad on the road trip and a blowout is a real possibility which could let Russ take some extra time off. He has crazy-huge potential, as always, but he costs a huge chunk of your salary as well.

Stephen Curry-Golden State Warriors (9,400): Curry and the Warriors are on their first long road trip of the season and take on the Celtics in Boston tonight. Curry started slowly, but has caught fire lately scoring 30+ points in three straight games with over 50 fantasy points in each of those contests. His best game of the year was a 46-point outburst against the Pelicans last Monday when he posted a crazy 68.25 fantasy points. He has the potential to go off any given night and the Celtics have been giving up big fantasy nights to opposing PGs. Curry is a solid alternative to Westbrook tonight and save you money to spend elsewhere.∗∗∗

Kemba Walker-Charlotte Hornets (8,200): One of the most interesting early games to watch will be the 7-3 Hornets hosting the 9-2 Hawks. Atlanta has started well in lots of categories, but one thing they have not done well is defend opposing PG. The Hawks have allowed the third-most fantasy points per game to opposing PG which should set Walker up for a monster night at home. He is averaging over 40 fantasy points per game on the season and has posted over 40 fantasy points in four of his last five including games of 66 fantasy points and 55.25 fantasy points in his last three games. Given his current form, two days off, and a great matchup, Walker is one of my top picks on the board at any position and price tonight. ∗∗∗∗

Kyle Lowry-Toronto Raptors (7,900): The Raptors are in Denver tonight to face the Nuggets who are allowing more fantasy points per game to opposing PG than any other team in the NBA. Lowry has scored 19 points or more in four of his last five games and has over 43 fantasy points in five of his last six. He played well in both halves of Toronto’s tough midweek back-to-back against the Cavs and Warriors, and he and the Raptors should enjoy taking on an easier opponent tonight in Denver. ∗∗∗

D’Angelo Russell-Los Angeles Lakers (6,300): Russell  has had an up and down first 12 games of the season, but he had one of the best games of his career on Tuesday against the Nets. He filled up the stat sheet with eight rebounds, three steals, and four assists while scoring a season-high 32 points and 56 fantasy points. He has scored at least 17 points in three of his last four games and is a solid mid-range option if you are looking for a PG around 6K with lots of upside. He’s a little riskier than some options, but his high ceiling is undeniable.∗∗
