Team of the Week: Colorado Buffaloes

Team of the Week has to go to the Colorado Buffaloes of the Pac-12. Colorado beat its first ranked opponent since the 2009 college football season by stopping the No. 22 Washington State Cougars at home, 38-24.

Colorado improves to 9-2 (7-1) on the season and will be a fixture in the College Football Playoff mix this season. If the Buffaloes defeat the rival Utah Utes in the Rumble in the Rockies on Saturday, Colorado will have won the Pac-12 South.

A 10-2 (8-1) Colorado team would await the winner of the Apple Cup between the Washington Huskies and Washington State in the 2016 Pac-12 Championship Game at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.

Colorado will be in the Top 10 of this week’s College Football Playoff rankings. If the Buffaloes beat the Utes and either the Huskies or Cougars again, Colorado has a legitimate shot to make the College Football Playoff at 11-2 as the 2016 Pac-12 Champion. Raise your hand if you thought this was possible at the beginning of the season. Me neither.
