Los Angeles Rams. 28. team. 51. The Jared Goff era begins with a come from behind loss handed by the Miami Dolphins. Los Angeles sent the first overall pick out for the first time Sunday, and he had the opportunity to throw a Hail Mary touchdown with time expiring. With no receivers in the end zone on a perfectly thrown ball, the Rams suffered their fourth loss at home. Defense was the real reason the Rams lost, as they allowed touchdowns on Miami’s final two drives of the game. One was a pile-pusher by Jarvis Landry, while the second was a diving catch in the end zone with seconds remaining.

Next Week: Goff will get an opportunity to play on the road for the first time with the Saints on the docket. New Orleans has one of the worst defenses in the league, allowing at least 30 points in half their games this year. This presents a nice opportunity for the rookie to get his feet wet in a hostile environment.

Playoff hopes: Sunday’s loss trims back the Rams chances of a playoff appearance, and Seattle’s win makes it even worse. With three of their next four games on the road, including New England and Seattle, the chances for Los Angeles are not strong.
. 4-6. Previous:
