Dalvin Cook is officially the best running back in the history of Florida State football. Cook cemented his place in the history of the program with his 225-yard effort against Syracuse this past weekend. The junior raced past Seminoles legend Warrick Dunn for first place on the school’s all-time rushing list, while leading the team to a blowout win over the Orange on the road.

Cook carried the ball 28 times on Saturday, while finding the end zone four times. It was the second time in the team’s last four games that he has rushed for four scores. Coming into the game, Cook needed only 19 yards to break Dunn’s school record of 3,959 yards, and he was able to do it fairly easily against a very bad Syracuse defense.

The 225 yards ran his career total to 4,166 yards, as he became only the sixth running back ever to rush for over 4,000 yards in ACC history. Though he was the sixth to do it, he was actually the first to do it in only three years. Cook is headed for the NFL after this season, where he will likely be the first or second running back off of the board in the first round.
