Cleveland Cavaliers. 1. team. 156. Despite a road loss to the Indiana Pacers dropping them from best record in the NBA to third, the Cleveland Cavaliers still remain atop the power rankings for the third week in a row. The Cavaliers are easily the best team in the Eastern Conference and with every passing game it’s looking more and more likely that LeBron James will catch that ghost he’s been chasing–at least in terms of consecutive trips to the NBA Finals. We’ve also seen our first instance of James coasting through the regular season, he was given the night off in the team’s loss to the Pacers, and it’s likely this will be the first of many DNP-rest for James. It will be interesting to see if James decides to spread them out sporadically over the year or opts to due his usual mid-season extended absence that he’s relied upon since coming back to his home state. Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love are playing at a high-level and the rest of the team’s supporting cast looks to be accustomed to their roles already. Outside of injuries or an extended losing streak, the Cavaliers should remain amongst the top tier of teams that have separated themselves from the pack as we inch closer to the 20 game mark.. (10-2). Previous:
