2017 NFL Mock Draft, Week 12: Watson, Kizer loom
By Brad Weiss
The Indianapolis Colts are a fun team to watch play offense, but watching them play defense can be painful at times. They have tried to bring in guys on the defensive side of the ball in recent years, but it still has not done much to improve the unit. Quarterback Andrew Luck is an elite player at his position, and if the Colts can bolster their defense, they could be making a return to the AFC Championship Game sooner than later.
Vanderbilt linebacker Zach Cunningham is as dynamic a player as there is in this draft, as his athleticism is matched by very few. He has incredible leaping ability, amazing closing speed, and he hits with a force that is second to none in this draft. He is a franchise changing linebacker, who would be a perfect fit for the Colts next season.
The Colts need a good young player to bring some life into their defense, and Cunningham plays with the kind of excitement that will bring fans to their feet inside the RCA Dome. Cunningham is a phenomenal run defender, whose instincts make him a tough player to block. Indy plays in a very winnable division, so one or two players could make them the class of the AFC South once again.
