Michigan State (+12.5) over Penn State

Michigan State is 3-8 and I know why this line is so high. In the same breath, the Spartans played fairly well against Michigan and were quite impressive against Ohio State, leading me to believe they are a frisky underdog in this spot. More than that, though, I’m not the biggest believer in Penn State’s offense exploding to cover a number like this, especially when they actually face pressure to take care of business. Lastly, the Nittany Lions might know they can’t win the Big Ten (if Michigan beats Ohio State) by the time this game begins, and that little tidbit of extra value might help to lessen your fears.

Minnesota (+14.5) over Wisconsin

I think Wisconsin is really, really good, but there is no chance in this world I am laying more than two touchdowns with the Badgers against a quality opponent. Most people haven’t been closely tracking Minnesota, but the Gophers are bowl-bound yet again with eight wins, and they haven’t lost a game by more than seven points this season. Wisconsin should win, but it will be close and the number makes no sense to me at all.
