Announcing the FanSided Fandom 250; the fan-powered network’s inaugural ranking of the world’s 250 best fandoms.
This year, FanSided is unveiling its Fandom 250 list, celebrating the best fanbases in the world, whether it be sports, entertainment, or anything that people identify and resonate with. Over the course of November, FanSided will be unveiling fanbases that have made the list 10 at a time, with the full rankings to be published on December 6th.
The latest batch of nominees is diverse, containing iconic musicians and prestigious college football programs.
From the music world, fan bases for the late icons David Bowie and Prince have made the list. Justin Timberlake and Drake are two current musicians that have developed international fanbases that are fiercely loyal, earning both a spot amongst the 250 best fanbases in the world.
The Red River Rivalry is one of the most treasured rivalries in the world of college football, in part because of the respective fanbases colliding on neutral ground in Dallas, Texas. The game is played at the Cotton Bowl half-way between the two schools and fans flock, attending the West End and State Fair and each trying to flex their muscles.
The USC Trojans have built a loyal fanbase in Southern California after years of success behind stars like O.J. Simpson, Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush.
Two widely popular television shows that have cultivated loyal followings have also been nominated, Survivor and Great British Bake Off.
