5 reasons Ed Orgeron is a home run hire for LSU football
By John Buhler
1. He feels like LSU
Not only is Orgeron well-versed in all things Louisiana football, he feels like LSU. The low rumble of his thick Cajun accent wouldn’t work in other parts of the United States, but Orgeron perhaps is the embodiment of everything LSU.
LSU could have hired one of those hot names revolving on the coaching carousel, but it wisely went with a guy that understands every nuance associated with LSU football. There will be little, if any, adjustment period for the Tigers heading into 2017 under Orgeron’s watch.
The Tigers will know what exactly is expected of them from their new head coach, as he has been with the program since 2015. It likely won’t be a swift departure from anything the Tigers did defensively under Miles. However, do expect Orgeron to hire his guy to run the LSU offense into the 21st century, whom ever that guy maybe.

From his roots in Louisiana and his undying love for all things LSU football, Orgeron encapsulates what it means to be LSU football more than any other would-be coaching candidate on the market.
