Previous: . Los Angeles Rams. 28. team. 51. Jared Goff finally threw an NFL touchdown, but could not provide enough scoring to compete with New Orleans. The first-overall pick connected with Tavon Austin, Kenny Britt, and Lance Kendricks on touchdowns, but nothing else on offense was effective. Todd Gurley has suffered a severe case of the sophomore slumps this year. He averaged less than four yards per carry against one of the worst defenses in the NFL this week. Los Angeles’ defense on the other hand allowed Drew Brees to throw four touchdowns, and a trick-play touchdown thrown by wide receiver Willie Snead. Two turnovers by Goff and an excessive amount of yards lost due to penalties were the final nail in the coffin Sunday for Los Angeles.

Next Week: The Rams travel to Foxborough to face Tom Brady and the Patriots. With Rob Gronkowski’s status unknown, the Rams defense could have a slight advantage. Then again, they’re facing arguably the greatest quarterback and coach of all-time. Traveling across the country won’t help the Rams either next week.

Playoff hopes: A playoff run was once in the mind of the Rams after winning three straight games, but a prolonged streak of losses leaves them on the outside once again. With a rookie quarterback, the focus should be on development, not the postseason.
. 4-7
