34. The Portland Trail Blazers are probably one of the weirdest teams in the top half of the NBA. In the offseason it looked like they did everything right in choosing to bring back their own free agents instead of throwing big money at a poor crop of free agents (IGNORE THE FESTUS EZELI SIGNING, LET’S ALL JUST ACT LIKE IT NEVER HAPPENED OKAY?). Bringing back an upstart group that overachieved and hoping they would continue to grow into something better is not the worst plan for a franchise to have. Yet, it hasn’t worked out that way for the Trail Blazers. Neil Olshey has an impressive track record as a general manager, but so far it looks like his choices from this offseason are not working out as intended. Ezeli still hasn’t played a game this year, Evan Turner looks more like the short-lived Indiana Pacers version of himself than the player the Boston Celtics made serviceable last season. Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum have been as good as expected, but no one else on this team has upped their game a level in order to ease the burden off the two guards. Unless they’re hoping for an MVP type of run from Lillard this team is going to need to get more people playing better and quickly.. 9-10. Previous: . Portland Trail Blazers. 14. team
