High Salary C

Marc Gasol-Memphis Grizzlies (7,000): One of the centers to take a look at in the 7K range is Marc Gasol who will have to carry the Grizzlies offensively while all his teammates recover. He has at least 33 fantasy points in five of his last six games and had 18-8-3 for 33.5 fantasy points last night in Toronto. Gasol can definitely produce 40+ fantasy points tonight against the Magic if the game stays close.

Rudy Gobert-Utah Jazz (6,500): The Heat and Jazz game will feature two of the best young bigs in the game as Rudy Gobert goes up against Hassan Whiteside. While Whiteside costs more and gets more attention, I’m going with “The Stifle Tower” in tonight’s head-to-head. While Whiteside usually picks up blocks, the Heat are allowing opposing centers to put up the most fantasy points per game in the NBA and have been especially bad lately. While Whiteside has to deal with Gobert’s tough defense, Gobert should be able to attack him on the other end as he looks to continue his current roll. While Utah sometimes goes unnoticed, Gobert has eight double-doubles in his last ten games and has multiple blocks in seven in a row and 12 of his last 13. That has resulted in at least 39 fantasy points in three of his last four and five of his last seven. In such a good matchup, go Rudy if you can afford him tonight.

Nikola Vucevic-Orlando Magic (6,200): On the other side of the Memphis-Orlando matchup is Nikola Vucevic who has also been playing well lately for Orlando and had three straight games of over 45 fantasy points before going for 12-10-0 against the Spurs for 31 fantasy points. Vucevic usually is worth considering at under 7K because of the variety of ways he can produce, but the risk in owning him tonight is increased because he’s matching up with Memphis who is allowing the fewest fantasy points per game to opposing centers so far this season. ∗∗
