High Value SF

Jae Crowder-Boston Celtics (5,300): It’s too bad there isn’t a way to load up on more than two SF since there are so many good options at the position tonight. Crowder is still woefully (or fortuitously) under-priced and in a great matchup against the 76ers who can’t defend SF at all. Last night, Crowder had 16-3-3 against the Kings for 24.1 fantasy points. Usually, he fills up the non-scoring numbers a little bit more and ends up at 30+ fantasy points. Tonight against Philadelphia, he should ready that level pretty easily since no team in the NBA is as generous to opposing SF.

James Johnson-Miami Heat (5,000): Johnson has come up huge for the Heat in his last two games posting 33.9 fantasy points against the Nuggets and 38.7 fantasy points against the Jazz on their current road trip. He has scored in double digits in five of his last six games and seems to have settled in as a big part of Miami’s wing rotation while they are without Justise Winslow, Josh Richardson, and Dion Waiters. All three are out again tonight and Johnson gets a good matchup against the Blazers who have been beaten up all season by opposing forwards.

DeMarre Carroll-Toronto Raptors (4,300): Carroll didn’t leave Atlanta quite as angry as Rajon Rondo left Dallas, but he’ll still be in a #RevengeGame spot tonight as he faces the Hawks in Toronto. Carroll has been playing well lately with double-digit points in six straight games and over 25 fantasy points in three of his last five. He rested last night, but he should be back in the lineup and ready to contribute against his former team this evening.

Joe Johnson-Utah Jazz (3,700): SF is stocked with options from the top to the bottom tonight, and Johnson makes a good cheap play since he’ll step into a bigger role for Utah again tonight with Hood out. Johnson had 18-3-4 on Thursday for 27.6 fantasy points and 11-3-3 on Tuesday for 18.1 fantasy points. If you decide to go cheap at the position, Johnson offers nice upside against the Nuggets who have been a great matchup to attack all season.∗∗
