New England Patriots. 2. team. 47. It was hardly a surprise that the AFC East leaders jumped out to a 17-0 halftime lead over the struggling Rams. Bill Belichick’s club outgained their guests by a combined 230-25 in terms of total yards by intermission. When it was all said and done, the Pats would cruise to a 16-point victory and limit Jeff Fisher’s club to a mere 162 total yards. On the other hand, it was a stellar performance by the New England offense. Quarterback Tom Brady and mates ran 75 plays and gained 402 total yards while committing zero turnovers and not allowing a sack to a talented Los Angeles defensive front.
Next Week: The first-place Pats remain home for a second straight week and host the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night. Including four playoff encounters between the franchises, New England owns a 9-3 overall advantage in this series. But two of those wins by Baltimore have come at Foxborough and in the postseason.

Playoff hopes: Make it 14 consecutive seasons with 10 or more wins by this amazing franchise. The Patriots are also zeroing in on an eighth consecutive playoff appearance and a record eight straight division title. Of course, they’re also in the running for the top seed in the AFC as well.
. 10-2. Previous:
