High Salary C

Karl-Anthony Towns-Minnesota Timberwolves (9,300): The Timberwolves have been a disappointment this season at just 6-14 and last in the Northwest division. However, Towns has been playing extremely well lately with at least 20 points in three straight games including a 47-18-2 game against the Knicks in his last home game where he totaled 75.6 fantasy points. As he and the Wolves take on the Spurs at home tongiht, he’ll look to produce a similar game to that one or at least match his 50.5 fantasy points from Saturday when he had 27-15-1 against the Hornets. Towns has a touch matchup against San Antonio who allows the second-fewest fantasy points to opposing centers in the NBA, but they have given up some big games to elite options like Hassan Whiteside and Andre Drummond. His price makes him high risk, but he has a very high ceiling tonight as well as the Wolves try to make a statement at home.

Hassan Whiteside-Miami Heat (9,100): If you buy into playing matchups, Whiteside is a better option tonight than Towns since he gets a tasty matchup with the Knicks who are allowing the second-most fantasy points per game to opposing centers in the NBA. Whiteside has posted over 50 fantasy points in three of his last four games after a mini-slump in late November. He had 28-16-1 and five blocks for 57.7 fantasy points against the Blazers in his last game on Saturday and should be well-rested as the Heat come home. With the limited offensive options in Miami, they’ll look to feed him the ball early and often which sets him up for a big game whether the Knicks have Joakim Noah or not.

Marc Gasol-Memphis Grizzlies (7,500): The only team that has been worse than the Knicks against opposing centers this season so far is the 76ers who Marc Gasol gets to face tonight. The Grizzlies rode Gasol to a big double-overtime win last night against the Pelicans when Gasol totaled 28-11-11 for a massive 62.7 fantasy points. He has at least 40 fantasy points in each of his last there games, and he is probably the best option on a points-per-dollar basis tonight even though there is some risk of a letdown after last night’s big win.

Rudy Gobert-Utah Jazz (6,900): He’s not as flashy as Towns, Whiteside, or Gasol, but “The Stifle Tower” keeps doing his thing for the Jazz and has at least ten boards and two blocks in seven straight games resulting in at least 25 fantasy points in each of those contests including a season-high 46.9 fantasy points last night in LA where he had 14-17-1 with five rejections. He doesn’t have the offensive upside of the other names on this high salary C list, but he does have very low risk as he takes on the Suns tonight at home.
