High Value SG

Eric Gordon-Houston Rockets (5,500): Gordon is coming off the bench for th Rockets but still getting plenty of opportunities to produce. He has scored at least 18 points in six straight games and bookended that run with 26 points against the Blazers and the Lakers. He had 26-4-2 for 37 fantasy points on Wednesday and has over 26 fantasy points in each of his last six games and nine of his last 11.  Gordon is finding his spots and could be a solid pick for 25 fantasy points tonight.

Marcus Smart-Boston Celtics (5,100): Smart will likely draw the start again for Boston tonight as they take on the Raptors. Isaiah Thomas has already been ruled out, and Smart stepped in last game with 24.75 fantasy points filling in for IT4. He now has at least 21 fantasy points in seven of his last nine games, but he’s still a little boom-or-bust depending on how his game goes on offense. At his best he’s a multi-category contributor, but he’s riskier than Johnson because his minutes are as secure or productive.

Wesley Matthews-Dallas Mavericks (5,100): Another option around the same price point that has been producing solid totals lately is Wesley Matthews who has at least 14 points in six straight and at least 25 fantasy points in five of his last six. Matthews minutes are a little more secure than Gordon’s but he’s a streaky shooter which raises his risk factor tonight as the Mavs host the up-tempo Pacers.

Wayne Ellington-Miami Heat (4,500): The Heat’s injuries on the wings have opened a ton of playing time for Ellington who logged 41 minutes on Wednesday night in Atlanta. He finished with 27.75 fantasy points in that game on 19-3-2. He doesn’t offer a ton of non-scoring stats, but he is low risk since he is getting so much run right now for Miami.

Tim Hardaway Jr-Atlanta Hawks (4,000): Hardaway is expected to draw a second straight start in place of Kent Bazemore. He was a popular flier play on Wednesday as he moving into the starting lineup but only had 11.5 fantasy points. He’s a boom or bust play against the Bucks tonight.

Norman Powell-Toronto Raptors (4,000): Powell is one of the best cheap fliers tonight at any position since he should move into the starting lineup in place of DeMarre Carroll who is resting tonight after playing last night. Powell had 18.75 fantasy points in his last start piling up 16-7-2 in 32 minutes against the Lakers. Boston hasn’t been great at defending opposing SF this season, and Powell should enjoy the up-tempo pace of tonight’s game in Boston.
