Cotton Bowl: Western Michigan vs. Wisconsin – Jan. 2, 1 p.m. ET

Everyone has the same question on their mind entering the Cotton Bowl Classic: Are the Western Michigan Broncos for real? Yes, they went 13-0 through the regular season and the MAC Championship, joining Alabama as the only undefeated teams in college football. However, they also didn’t play much of a tough schedule at all to get to that mark and now come into a matchup with a stout Wisconsin Badgers team that took Penn State to the wire in the Big Ten Championship game.

Whether you think they’re for real or not, you can’t deny the weapons that P.J. Fleck’s offense boasts. Quarterback Zach Terrell has been one of the more underrated passers in the country, aided by the fact that he can throw to Corey Davis. Davis is an NFL caliber talent with legit size, speed, and playmaking ability. He can do it all as a pass-catcher and should be able to thrive even against an elevated level of competition.

Meanwhile, the Badgers have a solid array of offensive weapons, despite a revolving door at quarterback between Alex Hornibrook and Bart Houston. Corey Clement has been great leading the way at running back this season, notching over 1,300 yards and 14 touchdowns n the ground this season. But no one is fooled into thinking that this team also doesn’t thrive off of defense, surrendering 15.5 points per game on the year.

What this matchup ultimately boils down to is if Western Michigan’s offense is able to attack the best defense they’ve faced all season. Though it may seem a longshot, I’m all in on Fleck and this Broncos team. They have legit weapons that can succeed against anyone and an underrated offensive line that should hold admirably. Row. The. Boat.

Prediction: Western Michigan: 35, Wisconsin: 31
