High Salary PF

Anthony Davis-New Orleans Pelicans (11,900): Davis has been out of sorts lately with a pair of down games around his “rest” day on Saturday. He managed just 14-12-4 with two blocks for 37.4 fantasy points against the Suns. He has been held under 60 fantasy points in four of his last five games which makes his 12K salary hard to swallow. However, he did go off for 45-17-3 and 76.9 fantasy points against the Warriors earlier this season and followed that with 33-13-1 for 47.1 fantasy points in their second meeting. Davis is so expensive that I expect a low ownership percentage tonight, but that may be just the time to go in on hime for GPP contests. I’m not using him in cash games, but in GPP he has so much upside that he’s hard to overlook.

Paul Millsap-Atlanta Hawks (8,300): Millsap has been excellent since returning from his three-game absence posting at least 40 fantasy points against the Thunder, Heat, and Bucks. His game on Friday against Milwaukee was one of his best of the season as he totaled a season-high 55.8 fantasy points on 23-14-6 with three blocks and a steal. He should be set up for more success tonight against the Magic although he will have to deal with Serge Ibaka’s defense.

Kristaps Porzingis-New York Knicks (8,000): Porzingis went off for a monster 58.4 fantasy points on Sunday against the Lakers with 26-12-2 and seven blocks. He had been held under 20 points for five straight games before Sunday’s explosion, but he should be able to keep things rolling in Phoenix tonight where he faces the Suns who are allowing the fifth-most fantasy points per game to opposing PF.∗∗∗∗

Serge Ibaka-Orlando Magic (6,200): There’s a big gap in the mid-range of the PF salary structure, but Ibaka is one of the options in the middle that makes sense. He has the potential for a monster game like he had against Detroit last Sunday with 21-7-4 and 48.4 fantasy points or against Denver on Saturday with 22-4-9 for 36.8 fantasy points. He also is pretty low-risk since he has had at least 24 fantasy points in eight of his last nine. If Vucevic or Biyombo are sidelined tongiht, that will also give Ibaka’s value a big boost as Orlando takes on the tough frontcourt of the Hawks.
