4. Madison Square Garden

The “World’s Most Famous Arena” has been rocking this season. Knicks fans have taken a liking to this years team, creating an energy that cannot be replicated in the NBA.

Madison Square Garden has been the home of the New York Knicks since it opened in 1968. The “Garden” is currently the second-oldest arena in all of the NBA, behind only Oracle Arena in Oakland, California.

Playing at MSG this year, the Knicks have enjoyed a 9-4 home-record. Compared to last year’s 18-23 home-record, it’s apparent that the home-court advantage in New York is real. The fans in New York always show up, even with last season’s disaster, they still ranked fifth in NBA attendance. The difference this year, is that fans are actually in the Knicks corner. When the team is bad,  the home town fans will let their frustrations known, as was the case last season.

As well as cheering on the home-team, Knicks fans have gotten into the habit of egging on the visiting teams. When LeBron James and the Cavaliers came to town, they received chants of “Posse” throughout the game. Also, when the Kings were at MSG, Knicks fans reminded forward Matt Barnes of his ex-wives new boyfriend, by hollering “Derek Fisher” chants.

Like they say, New York fans are best in the world.
