Gary Patterson is currently engineering the most successful period of TCU football in school history. While the Horned Frogs won 12 conference titles before Patterson took over the program, he has developed them into consistent winners, winning six since 2002.

It’s impressive that he’s won a third of the school’s league titles in his short time with the program, but what’s even more eye-opening is the fact that he’s won a championship as a member of three different conferences. He led TCU to a Conference USA crown back in 2002, four Mountain West titles from 2005-11 and a Big 12 championship in 2014.

Not many coaches have had that type of success in multiple leagues around college football and he has become one of the more consistent leaders in the nation.

The Horned Frogs have made 32 bowl games in their history, and are 15-15-1 with the Liberty Bowl coming up on Dec. 30. They’ve made it to three major bowl games since 2010, losing the Fiesta Bowl, but winning the Rose and Peach Bowls.

TCU also has two national titles and has finished in the AP Top 25 a total of 11 times since 2000. The program also has one Heisman winner who also happens to have the top quarterback award named after him: Davey O’Brien. Also, 17 consensus All-Americans have played for the Horned Frogs and future NFL Hall of Famer LaDainian Tomlinson played college ball in Fort Worth.
