Ranking the top 50 college football programs of all time
Mike MacIntyre is putting together a solid program yet again in Boulder. The Colorado Buffaloes have gone through some very dark years over the past decade, not having won a division title since 2005. The Buffaloes went to the Pac-12 title game in 2016, only to lose to Washington by 31 points.
Still, things are looking up for the Buffaloes, who are no stranger to success. In fact, Colorado won the national championship back in 1990 after going 11-1-1 with an Orange Bowl victory to cap it off.
That happened to be the only national title in school history, but the Buffaloes have won 26 conference titles. To go along with that, they’ve gone 12-16 in bowl games all-time and they’ll be attending their first bowl game since 2007 this year, looking to win their first since 2004.
Ralphie will be running when you get this Colorado t-shirt.
Also, the 10-win campaign engineered by MacIntyre is the school’s first since 2001 and, if things keep trending in this direction, it won’t be the last.
The Buffaloes have produced 30 consensus All-Americans and a Heisman winner in Rashan Salaam back in 1994 — Kordell Stewart also finished 13 in voting that season. The program has produced some gems in its rich history.
