Bournemouth face Southampton at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday, Dec. 18. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

Winners of their last two at home, Bournemouth will be feeling good about their chances on Sunday against Southampton. In fact, the Cherries have only lost once in their last seven matches at Dean Court. Overall, they’ve been a roller coaster, though. Topping Liverpool in a thrilling 4-3 affair and then beating champions Leicester 1-0, with a 3-2 loss away to Burnley in the middle.

Meanwhile, Southampton have only won once on the road this season. A primary reason has been their struggling offense, which has failed to score more than one goal in the last eight league games. A positive result on Sunday and favorable decisions around the league this weekend could push the Saints as high as seventh.

Both clubs are tied on 21 points in the middle of the table. Southampton have aspirations to return to the Europa League spots, while Bournemouth’s goal at the start of the season was another year of survival. Could the Cherries push on for Europe? It’s definitely possible, but Eddie Howe’s side will likely have to improve at the back, where they’ve been shipping goals at an alarming rater. The three they conceded against Liverpool were no great surprise, but conceding the same number against Burnley reflected a larger problem for the Cherries at the back.

Bournemouth may look to Southampton like the right team to help them to rediscover their attacking groove.
