10. Down 13-0 at home in the second quarter to the two-win Jacksonville Jaguars, the defending AFC South champions looked like their nine-game winning streak vs. divisional rivals looked like it would come to a surprising end. Quarterback Brock Osweiler was benched after hitting on just six of his 11 passes for 48 yards and a pair of interceptions. Enter Tom Savage, who helped rally his team to a one-point win and helped keep his club tied atop the division standings. The young signal-caller threw for 260 yards and while he didn’t connect for a score, Savage did not commit a turnover as the Houston offensive line allowed no sacks in this contest.
Next Week: Never mind who they are playing. The big question this week will be who the Texans starting quarterback will be on Christmas Eve night vs. Cincinnati. Was Sunday’s miserable day the last straw for Brock Osweiler for a bit? Or will O’Brien reinsert him into the lineup against the Bengals?

Playoff hopes: The Texans just have to keep doing what they’re doing. Wins in the final two weeks over the visiting Bengals and at Nashville will give the franchise its fourth division title in six years. It’s been an erratic season for this club but they are still in prime position to return to the playoffs for a second straight year.
. 8-6. Previous: . Houston Texans. 16. team
