9. team. 35. Mike Mularkey’s team found itself down 14-0 in the first quarter but remained balanced throughout the afternoon and that paid off by game’s end. Tennessee amassed 389 total yards, with 63 offensive plays duvuded somewhat equally between the run (29) and the pass. For the second straight week, quarterback Marcus Mariota failed to throw a touchdown pass and actually had two of the team’s three turnovers on the afternoon. But the second-year quarterback drive his team 40 yards in six plays in the closing 1:07 and former Chiefs kicker Ryan Succop connected on a very relevant 53-yard field goal on the game’s final play to secure the Titans’ victory.
Next Week: The team makes the somewhat short trip to Jacksonville to face a team that just fired its head coach. The2-12 Jaguars relieved Gus Bradley of his job following a 21-20 loss at Houston in which his team squandered a 13-0 second-quarter lead. The Titans rolled the Jaguars, 36-22, on a Sunday night at Nashville earlier this year.

Playoff hopes: What an amazing turnaround. The Titans haven’t been to the postseason since winning the AFC South in 2008. They remained tied with the Houston Texans at the top of the division and have now won three more games than they did from 2014-15 (5). That Week 17 showdown at home with Houston could easily be for the title.
. 8-6. Previous: . Tennessee Titans
