NFL Mock Draft: Week 16
By Brad Weiss
Boasting one of the better defenses in the league, the Denver Broncos have kept themselves in the playoff hunt this season despite some huge inadequacies on offense. They were playing with a first-year starter under center, and their running back was hurt early in the season. This past weekend, the Broncos welcomed the Patriots to town, and while their defense was incredible, the offense just could not move the ball.
Incredibly, it has not been quarterback Trevor Siemian’s fault that the offense has been so bad. He has done a nice job as of late, but the team just has no run game to speak of. Losing C.J. Anderson early in the year has hurt, and the team just may have to look to the draft to pick up some depth at the position.
While Dalvin Cook and Leonard Fournette are the cream of the crop at the position in this draft, a player like D’Onta Foreman will be a solid back at the next level. Foreman is a big, bruising running back for the University of Texas, and he has the speed to break off big ones when he gets loose. The Broncos did draft Devontae Booker in the fourth round last year, but Foreman may be too good to pass up in 2017.
