NFL Mock Draft: Week 16
By Brad Weiss
The Pittsburgh Steelers have shaken off a rough start to the season to be right in the thick of things in the AFC, and some believe they will challenge the New England Patriots for the AFC Championship in 2016. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is one of the best quarterbacks in the league, and his running back, Le’Veon Bell, is one of the better talents we have seen in recent years. Not to mention that they have the best wide receiver in the AFC, the Steelers are in prime position to make a deep run this January.
Next April, Pittsburgh is sure to be drafting near the bottom of the first round, but that does not mean they can’t add to their already impressive roster. The UCLA Bruins have a tremendous defensive end that would be perfect for the Steelers if they come calling in the first round. Takkarist McKinley is a rare blend of size and speed, and he has Pittsburgh Steeler written all over him.
McKinley is a special player because of all the things he can do to disrupt an offense. He is an aggressive tackler, who has a nose for getting after the ball carrier. However, he is also keen at getting after the quarterback, which would make him a fear defender in a very defensive heavy AFC North. The Steelers are going to go defense in round one, and McKinley just may be available late.
